Cascada™ AN-Water System: Compliance With ASTM Type IC Reagent Water Specification
Cascada™ AN-Water System: Compliance With ASTM Type IC Reagent Water Specification

Introduction
The Cascada AN-water System is fed with partially purified water. The unit produces extremely high ultrapure water for critical laboratory applications suitable for all analytical and pharmaceutical applications.

The product water conforms to ASTM* Type IC Reagent Water specification.

Method
A Cascada AN-water System was fed with reverse osmosis (RO) permeate water with a conductivity of 28 µS/cm and a TOC of 60 ppb. The units were operated intermittently and product water dispensed to simulate typical use patterns.

Resistivity and TOC were logged online using a Thornton 200CR meter and a Sievers 820 TOC analyzer respectively. Samples were taken for bacterial analysis. Total viable counts were measured by the Membrane Filtration (MF) Technique and incubation on R2A agar at 27 °C for five days.

Samples were analyzed for chloride using a Dionex DX500 ion chromatograph with AS12 column and for sodium and silica by ICP-MS.
